About Us

The New Jersey Water Supply Authority's Watershed Protection Programs Division was formed in 1999 to administer a systematic source water protection program for the watersheds that the Authority relies upon for its water supply. The Division's primary objectives include the development and implementation of projects that afford protection of the quantity and quality of the source water in the Raritan and Manasquan River Basins, and the Delaware & Raritan Canal and its tributaries for the benefit of the Authority and its customers. Raritan Basin Ag Mini-Grants:
Sharing the Cost of Water Quality Improvement

Up to 100% cost-share is available for the installation of agricultural practices that improve soil and water resources

NJWSA is offering cost-share funding to farmers in four target watersheds for the installation of agricultural practices that improve soil and water resources while also protecting water quality. The four watersheds -- Mulhockaway Creek, Spruce Run, Neshanic River and South Branch Raritan -- are important components of NJWSA's Delaware & Raritan water supply system, which provides drinking water to more than 1.5 million customers in central New Jersey.

Funding is available for a list of practices that NJWSA developed with their project partners. The NJWSA funding may be used to match a farmer's USDA-NRCS or FSA cost-share so that the farmer receives up to 100% cost-share funding, or to provide sole funding for practice installation in certain cases.

NJWSA is working with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture and North Jersey Resource Conservation & Development Council.
